Vietnam Fisheries Surveillance receives modern ship

Pano July 1, 2014 - The Ha Long Shipbuilding One Member Co. Ltd. on June 30th handed over the KN-781 fisheries surveillance ship to the Vietnam fisheries surveillance force.
This modern ship was built by the company since January 2012 with the design and technology transferred by Dutch Damen Group.
The KN-781, 90.5m long, 14m wide and 7m high, has a displacement of up to 2,500 tons. Equipped with four engines with total capacity of 12,016HP, the ship can reach a maximum speed of 21 nautical miles per hour and a range of 5,000 nautical miles. Besides, it is provided with modern search and rescue equipment and a helicopter deck.
Dang Huy Hau, Deputy Chairman of Quang Ninh provincial People’s Committee, said at the handover ceremony in Ha Long city that this large-scale ship would help Vietnam Fisheries Surveillance conduct more offshore and long-day patrols to support fishermen and ensure law enforcement in the province’s waters in particular, and in Vietnam’s waters in general.
