May 11, 2015 – The Song Thu Corporation under the Defence Ministry’s General Department of Defence Industry should continue cooperation in technology transfer and hand over ships to partners as scheduled.
This request was made on May 11th at a meeting between a delegation of the Ministry of National Defence, led by its Deputy Minister Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Thanh Cung, and the corporation.
Senior Colonel Ha Son Hai, the unit’s Director General, briefed the delegation on its business operations, especially progress of building a 3500CV tugboat and two modern patrol ships for the Vietnam Coast Guard.
Hailing the corporation’s efforts in maintaining a high growth rate and produce competitive exports, the General urged the unit to bring into play its strength to meet the requirements for its tasks in the new context, boost effective cooperation with domestic and international partners, develop sustainably, harmoniously combine economic activities with defence, and become a key shipbuilder and service provider of the Vietnam shipbuilding sector.
