Severnaya Verf to commence mooring tests of combat logistics ship Elbrus in November 2015

October 12, 2015 - Severnaya Verf (United Shipbuilding Corporation) is completing preparing the ELBRUS, a lead combat logistics ship of Project 23120 built for RF Ministry of Defense, for mooring tests, the shipyard says.
The ship is 88% ready.
The series design was developed by St. Petersburg based naval architecture and marine engineering firm CJSC SpetsSudoProekt. The vessels are designed for loading, storage, transport and delivery of dry cargo ashore and onto other ships, as well as to provide towing, rescue of crews and salvage of stricken ships.
The contract for the 23120-series combat logistics ships of ARC4 class notation was signed on 29 June 2012 and the flagship ELBRUS keel-laying was held on November 14, 2012.
Key characteristics: LOA – about 95 m; BOA – about 22 m; draught – about 9 m; full displacement – about 10,000 t; cruising range – about 5,000 miles; endurance – about 60 days; crew - 27 persons.
The launch of another combat logistics ship of Project 23120, Vsevolod Bobrov, being built at the shipyard is scheduled for March 2016.
