Monsey NY January 5, 2016 - Culinary Depot, a leader in the restaurant supply industry has recently completed the installation of a state-of-the-art kitchen (galley) aboard the Navy Destroyer USS Arleigh Burke. USS Arleigh Burke, which is the lead ship in the Arleigh Burke fleet includes stealth technology and a Collective Protection System that allows it to operate in environments contaminated by chemical, biological, or radiological materials.
"It was such an honor to be a part of this monumental achievement," said Michael Lichter, CEO of Culinary Depot. "Taking on a project like this was both challenging and rewarding for Culinary Depot and upon its completion we were really able to see as a company and team what we are capable of. It was both exciting and enlightening for us and we are happy to have been apart of it."
Implementing a commercial kitchen for such a large naval vessel took careful planning, extensive knowledge of components, and focused coordination efforts from each individual involved.
"When choosing restaurant and kitchen equipment, it is really important to look at the quality of the items that are included especially because a vessel like this is positioned to be at sea for long periods of time," stated Moshe Potash, Head of Ecommerce Operations. "Replacement kitchen supplies are not a luxury the crew will have, so product longevity played a huge part in choosing the items that were included within the kitchen's initial design."
