Coast Guard Begins HC-144B Minotaur Prototype Integration
The Coast Guard began the process of integrating Minotaur mission system architecture into one of its two HC-144B Ocean Sentry medium range surveillance aircraft at Naval Air Station Patuxent River, Maryland, July 12, 2016. The two HC-144B aircraft have already undergone improvements to their avionics components that will be introduced across the entire HC-144 fleet prior to Minotaur installation. The Minotaur integration process involves taking steps to protect the engine and other components during the installation, removing the current mission system, and installing the new baseline design. Minotaur installation on the prototype aircraft, CGNR 2307, is planned for completion by early 2017. U.S. Coast Guard photo.
